Solar panel lighting for bus shelter

2010-01-29

Solar panel lighting

A complete unit in aluminium made to blend in the bus shelter design, easily mounted under the roof with no visible bolts or any need for any extra cables.

Mounting of the unit and access to the components inside is to be made from above the roof, when releasing the polycarbonate sheet. There is no possibility to dismount or access the unit from inside the bus shelter.

The unit contains of a complete control box. 3x12Ah maintenance free batteries, 3x1W LED spotlights, 1x3W solar panel, daylight sensor and a movement sensor.

This unit can be delivered in several different lengths and be equipped to your wishes.

The control box is sensing the solar panles voltage level and detects if it is night or day.

In daylight mode the system is off to load the batteries, the lighting will not start.

In night mode there is a choice to have the lighting off until the movement sensor detects that someone enters the bus shelter which makes the lights go on. Alternatively the lights can be on in a lower stand-by level all the time in night mode, and then go up to light in full level when someone enters the shelter.

If the voltage level in the batteries is getting low, the level of the lighting will be reduced. The system detects when the voltage is enough to let the light back in full level.

If the system remains in night mode more than 24h, for example if the roof is covered with snow, the system will be turned off to avoid emptying the batteries. The system remains turned off until daylight is detected again and the system will go back to normal functions.

The system has about 10 nights capacity with fully loaded batteries
